OnePlus 9 Pro Users Reported Sound Failure Issue After Latest OxygenOS 13.1 Update

The latest OxygenOS 13.1 update for the OnePlus 9 Pro flagship smartphone was recently released by OnePlus. Under the hood, the update includes many changes such as an optimized system, redesigned notification panel tiles, newly added zen modes, new championship gaming modes, and much more.

However, a new issue has been reported by the users after updating their OnePlus 9 Pro to the latest OxygenOS 13.1 update. The issue reportedly makes the device go totally silent, which becomes problematic as the users cannot listen to any content. Even alarms and reminder sounds aren’t coming, which indeed is very frustrating.

OnePlus 9 Pro OxygenOS 13.1 Sound Not Coming Issue

A OnePlus 9 Pro user on OnePlus Community reported this issue. Following the update, the user’s device has lost all sound output, causing frustration and inconvenience. He can’t hear any sound from applications, including alarms and messages, so he has a silent experience.

He also mentioned that he tried some workarounds, such as restarting the device, which restored the sound. The unfortunate part is that the sound only lasted a few seconds before going completely silent. This is a very troublesome and frustrating experience, and no user would expect such problems with their flagship smartphone.

We checked our OnePlus 9 Pro device to confirm this, and the issue is present there as well. Not only that, but we’ve also noticed that after using Nearby Share, the device goes completely silent, and haptics doesn’t work at all. To resolve the issue, you must restart the device, which is not a permanent solution.

The brand has not yet issued an official statement of acknowledgment. Whether it is a software glitch or a bug, we expect OnePlus to respond to this issue as soon as possible and provide a fix to affected users. If you are a OnePlus 9 Pro, then please let us know if the issue is present on your unit as well or not.
