OPPO Find X6 Pro vs. iPhone 14 Pro camera test: new HDR king!

OPPO Find X6 Pro was recently unveiled and is OPPO’s new smartphone with the best camera system. OPPO Find X6 Pro features triple camera setup just like iPhone 14 Pro, but with larger sensors and the new MariSilicon X ISP, it’s a much more powerful performer. The resolution of all cameras on the OPPO Find X6 Pro is 50 MP.

Oppo Find X6 Pro

The main camera has a 1-inch Sony IMX 989 sensor, and the lens with f/1.8 aperture and it’s equivalent to 23 mm. The main camera features PDAF, Laser AF and OIS as well. Sony IMX 890 on telephoto and wide angle camera is another noteworthy aspect of the OPPO Find X6 Pro. Many smartphone manufacturers favor the usage of auxiliary cameras with the much smaller sensor to free up room inside the phone.

The wide angle and telephoto camera on Find X6 Pro employ the same sensor of primary camera on OnePlus 11. Find X6 Pro’s auxiliary cameras will produce photos with the same ISO performance and excellent dynamic range as OnePlus 11’s primary camera. The specifications of the lenses are different, of course, but it’s quite exciting to have Sony IMX 890 on the both auxiliary cameras. This sensor is 1/1.56″ in size. Telephoto camera has aperture of f/2.6 and focal length of 65mm, so it supports 2.8x optical zoom. The telephoto camera also has OIS and PDAF.

Find X6 Pro’s ultra wide angle camera is also quite ambitious since it has optical image stabilization. Almost no other smartphone manufacturer offers an ultra wide angle camera with OIS, whereas iPhone 14 Pro‘s ultra wide angle camera lacks OIS. Find X6 Pro’s ultra wide angle camera has aperture of f/2.2 and focal length of 15mm, allowing you to take 110˚ degrees wide angle photos.

iPhone 14 Pro

The main camera of iPhone 14 Pro has resolution of 48 MP with aperture of f/1.8, the sensor size is 1/1.28″ and the main camera supports Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS. The auxiliary cameras on the iPhone 14 Pro have 12 MP resolution and much smaller sensors than those on the Find X6 Pro.

iPhone 14 Pro‘s telephoto camera has an aperture of f/2.8 and a focal length of 77 mm, allowing for 3x optical zoom. Telephoto camera has PDAF and OIS and the sensor size is 1/3.5″ which is much smaller than Find X6 Pro’s telephoto sensor. Ultra wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 13mm focal length for 120˚ images The wide angle camera lacks OIS and has Dual Pixel PDAF. The sensor size is 1/2.55″.

OPPO Find X6 Pro vs. iPhone 14 Pro camera samples

Here is the comparison with a few photo examples. While Find X6 Pro is quite powerful in hardware, the camera software is no slouch and the Find X6 Pro produces photos with high dynamic range. The images on this comparison taken from the Chinese website MyDrivers.

In the photo taken with Find X6 Pro, the shadowed areas look quite bright and not too noisy. With a few simple adjustments you can have the similar image on iPhone 14 Pro photo, but what’s interesting as well is the sky also looks quite natural on Find X6 Pro. Many smartphones make unnecessary software adjustments to the sky, resulting in an unnatural image. Both the phones are quite successful in this photo.

Here you see the images when you take a photo of an object close to the camera. Here, the 1-inch sensor dominates, providing a deep depth of field and a background bokeh that is more pleasant. The Find X6 Pro image appears to be closer to the subject, but both photos were taken from an identical angle. OPPO’s image is just like a cropped photo.

From a distance, the photos look similar, but zoom in and you can see that the Find X6 Pro’s telephoto camera gives a much more detailed image, especially on the image shot under low light. Visit MyDrivers website here to check more images and details.
