OPPO recently launched its OPPO Reno 10 series of smartphones in India. The series consists of three different smartphones; the OPPO Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+ 5G. The devices were priced slightly on the higher side with the top variant going as high as INR 54,999 (~$665.85). One can get a flagship device like OnePlus 11 at this price range in India.
Despite the significant increase in price, the brand asserts that the device is projected to achieve an 83% growth in total sales volume compared to its predecessor. This claim is intriguing, considering the substantial percentage and the unexpectedly higher price tag.
“We aim to achieve an 83 percent surge in the total sales volume of the Reno 10 series compared to the previous generation. That’s the ambitious goal we have set for ourselves,” stated Damyant Singh Khanoria, Chief Marketing Officer of Oppo India, during a company event. He also highlighted that India remains a strong market for the company, and they have witnessed growth throughout this year.
“It’s likely true for the industry as a whole. It has been a challenging year for the industry. Yes, there are headwinds and economic challenges, but specifically in terms of the Indian market, we have experienced a series of highly successful product launches. We believe that this year will be one of the most outstanding for Oppo in India,” Khanoria stated.
As per CounterPoint Research, OPPO achieved a 9% YoY growth and held the fourth position with a 12% market share in the March 2023 quarter. The most recent release of the Reno 10 series arrives after a hiatus of approximately one and a half years. In February of the previous year, the company introduced the Reno 8T series.
