OnePlus has been hard at work on the upcoming OnePlus 12. The device will be released as an upgrade to the current OnePlus 11. The OnePlus 11 already provides an excellent set of specifications at a reasonable price, and its successor is expected to raise the bar even higher. We’re getting close to the official launch, and leaks about the device have already begun to surface online.
The latest piece of information surfacing online has reportedly leaked some of the key specifications of the upcoming OnePlus 12 along with its expected launch duration.
The launch date of the upcoming OnePlus 12 has been posted by Twitter tipster @Heyitsyogesh. The device will be released in December 2023, according to the information. The device will first be available in China before being made available in other markets. The source’s launch month feels a little early, given that OnePlus typically releases its flagship device at the beginning of the year. However, this is in line with the earlier-than-usual release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen2’s successor.
Qualcomm has scheduled an event for the month of October to announce its latest flagship chipset. The same chipset will power the OnePlus 12 and other Android flagship smartphones. The OnePlus 12’s early launch makes sense because the chipset is also launching earlier than expected, and there’s no reason to delay the launch when the resources are already available.
As for the specifications, the OnePlus 12 will flaunt a 6.7-inches Quad HD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. It would be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chipset. As for the cameras, the device is tipped to offer a 50-megapixel primary lens, a 50-megapixels secondary ultrawide lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope zoom lens. The device will pack a 5000mAh battery coupled with 100W fast-wired charging support.
